Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars

Review

Amazing biography film. (9/10)

I was never a big fan of EC honestly. Been a recent fan of his crossroads for the past 5 years I guess, but never actually listened to anything beside a couple of unplugged tracks and couple of others.

I have always been kind of judgmental and biased against all “white blues”, I know that’s racist too. But don’t we all have racism build-in inside of us? There is no point to deny!

Looking and hearing the great story in this film, even if I don’t agree with everything in it, I must admit that regarding EC, I have judged the book by its cover in the past. This film opened my eyes and taught me many things related and unrelated to the music business. It also completed the picture of how music as a profession could be integrated with a balanced life. It’s told and narrated personally by EC himself and others of his friends/spouses/relatives throughout the film.

One of the best features of this film is the drama and the real life stories that inspired and influenced the creation of many of EC’s most popular songs.

A must watch.
